The Ramones: Mama’s Boy
Ever have one of those days where you get a song stuck in your head first thing in the morning and it won’t go?
I’m having one today and it’s all down to reading another blogger’s post first thing this morning about a really bad (Is there any other kind?) reality show called “Momma’s Boys”. Jen over at the Dark Passenger blog watched the show and quite rightly questioned the sanity of all involved with the program.
Me? I read her post and got the Ramones song “Mama’s Boy” stuck in my head all morning.

“Mama’s Boy” is the first song on the Ramones Too Tough To Die album from 1984. If you’re one of those people who think the first four albums are the only thing the Ramones did worth listening to, first I would say you were wrong, then I’d tell you to check out Too Tough To Die.
I’ll leave you with the Ramones performing “Mama’s Boy” and give thanks to Jen at Dark Passenger for not watching a show called “Like a Virgin” or “Achy Breaky Heart”.
- It’s Hard To Be A Saint In The City, Philly 2003
- Soulja Boy’s Reaction to Ice T’s Video

- “But that’s not the way MOM used to do it”- A dedication to all of HIS moms on Mother’s Day and all the joy they have brought women across the nation.
- NASCAR’s new bad boy, Kyle Busch

Ooh…not just one but TWO bits of link love. Gotta love that!!!
Sorry you got the song stuck in your head all day, but you’re right, it really could have been a lot worse…Seriously though, if I ever find myself watching a show called ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ and not changing the channel then I’ll be kicking my own erm…”butt” since I’m an alternative rock chick through and through.
Then again, I did have Achy Breaky Heart stuck in my head for days after an episode of South Park one time so…yeah.
It happens to me all the time as I am always singing, you don’t want to here me song lol unless you go on Youtube. At the moment it’s Yeke Yeke by Mory Kante..I learned the whole song too, couldn’t resist
Hawg - don’t worry, there are far worse songs to get stuck in your head. Just go with it and enjoy the ride. As well as the two you mentioned, I also find “Mondo Bizarro” and “Brain Drain” highly listenable, and for an album full of covers “Acid Eaters” is hard to beat.
Jen - If it’s worth doing once, it’s worth doing twice.
Yanjiaren - Happens all the time to me as well. Yesterday was good because A) I knew WHY I had the song in my head, B) I LIKED the song, and C) I had the CD in my car so was able to get a quick fix.
